The mansion's formal parlor, now a self-contained suite for two. A carved fireplace mantel, reproduction wallpaper imported from England, lace at the windows, and a black-and-white tile bath that looks a hundred years older than it is.
Best for: Couples, and anyone who came to Leadville to walk everywhere.

The space
The Parlor is a private suite in the former home of Colorado Governor Jesse McDonald — built 1881, mansion wing completed 1893, with original Victorian wallpaper, antique furnishings, and exposed brick.
The bedroom has a queen bed with room-darkening shades and extra bedding for cool 10,152-ft nights. The living room offers an electric fireplace, Smart TV, and a sit-stand desk for remote work. The full kitchen includes an electric cooktop, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and French press, stocked with cookware. The bathroom has a walk-in shower (no tub). Outside: a covered front porch with seating and a dedicated parking spot steps from the private entrance.
Worth knowing: the 1881 building shares walls with a neighboring unit, so some noise can carry — white noise machines and earplugs are provided. There is no air conditioning; Leadville rarely needs it at 10,152 ft.
